The Balanced Labor Market Act (the 'WAB') will come into effect on January 1st.
The WAB touches on all aspects of employment law, but it particularly affects the flexible labor market. All service providers who provide workers under (currently) temporary employment contracts—as well as their clients—will face the consequences of this law, and those consequences are quite far-reaching.
In our presentation, we provide an overview of the most important changes from a legal perspective. We will focus on the practical aspects that are relevant to you. Consider the following:
1. What do the changes mean for the practice of employment agencies and payroll employers?
2. Following the debate on the WAB in the Senate, what exactly is the difference between temporary employment and payrolling, and how should this be handled in practice?
3. What do the changes mean for back-office services and how should they be dealt with in practice?
4. Which consequences of the WAB will take effect immediately on 1 January 2020, and which consequences will come into effect later (transitional law, pensions)?
5. What risks does the hirer face and what can the hirer do about them?
6. What are the main advantages and disadvantages of the new law?
Because many aspects of the WAB will take effect immediately from January 1st, you cannot really wait to start preparing.
We therefore want to offer you a platform to inform you about the WAB in a timely manner and to answer your questions.
We'd also like to hear about any issues you're facing regarding the WAB and any questions you have. We can incorporate these aspects into our presentation.
