We are proud to announce that Joel Erwteman joined Wintertaling as an M&A partner in September 2025. His arrival strengthens our Corporate and M&A team and allows us to offer our clients even more expertise in transactions, governance issues and commercial contracts.
Experience and background
Joel has over twenty years of experience in commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Since 2000, he has advised on transactions in all phases: from early-stage investments to large-scale acquisitions. He has worked at some of the largest national and international law firms in the Netherlands and has in-depth expertise in drafting complex shareholder agreements. He combines legal acumen with a creative and pragmatic approach, always focused on achieving the best possible outcome for all parties involved.
His clients include private investors, private equity funds and companies, both locally and internationally. Before joining Wintertaling, Joel worked at Allen & Overy, Boekel De Nerée (now Dentons), Clifford Chance, Pinsent Masons and Stibbe. Joel studied Dutch law at the University of Amsterdam (1999) and obtained an LL.M. from Columbia Law School in New York (2000).
