Some call it a gap in the market. At Ploum, on the other hand, the desk is already on the decline, as working with Chinese clients was deemed &quot;too labor-intensive and time-consuming to be profitable.&quot;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Bart Kasteleijn, a lawyer at Wintertaling&#039;s China desk, acknowledges that the Chinese market isn&#039;t easy. &quot;It&#039;s not for everyone,&quot; he says. &quot;Aside from the language and cultural divide, it&#039;s quite challenging financially, because Chinese clients aren&#039;t always willing to pay a hefty fee.
