BREDA, Netherlands, May 1, 2015 /PRNewswire

SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in energy and communications, announces the acquisition of the Numac Group. This strategic acquisition strengthens SPIE's position in the eastern Netherlands.

Founded in 1984, Numac is a leading industrial maintenance service provider for the Dutch industry. Through its four subsidiaries, the company offers a comprehensive portfolio of services and solutions: mechanical engineering, control and installation technology, and machine maintenance for metal technology. With over 670 employees and 16 locations in the Netherlands, the Numac Group, headquartered in Venray, generates an annual turnover of €57 million.

Lei Ummels, Managing Director of SPIE Netherlands: “This acquisition is an excellent opportunity for both companies to further develop their businesses and reach new customers throughout the Netherlands. The Numac Group has a wide range of activities and a diverse customer base of more than 1,000 active accounts, enabling us to deliver new products and services to existing and new customers. Numac also has strong geographic coverage and highly trained multi-technical maintenance technicians who can be deployed independently and in a broad range of roles. The Numac Group has its own training center (Num-ac-ademy) where employees are trained. This aligns well with SPIE's ambition to further develop the competencies of our employees to the highest level.”

Frank Snijders, Director of the Numac Group: “We are delighted that Numac is joining the SPIE Group. SPIE is interested in our activities and recognizes our added value, such as our expertise in maintenance. SPIE is a strategically and financially sound company that will provide continuity to the Numac Group's customers and employees.”
